Alfredo Barbini (Murano 1912-2007 Murano)
Alfredo Barbini um 1950. Vase „Incalmo a scavo“. Zweiteilig hergestelltes, mehrschichtig aufgebautes Vasenobjekt in beidseitig abgeflachter Kalabassen Form. Vasenoberteil aus transparentem, orangerotem, opak-weiß unterfangenem Glas, versetzt verschmolzen mit dem unterem Teil der Vase aus transparentem, umbrafarbem Glas. Die Oberfläche ist in der für Barbini typischen a Scavo- Technik grau patiniert. Vasenmündung und Vasenboden geschliffen und poliert. Bezeichnet mit dem Inventaretikett der Firma Pauly & Cia., Venedig.

Very rare, erly and expressive “Incalmo Scavo” vase, calabash shaped and twisted body. Upper part made of transparent orange-red tinted glass with opaque white inside layer, fused on the lower part made of transparent smoked brown tinted glass, in so called „incalmo“-technique. Surface in typical Barbini „scavo“-technique greyish-white patinated. Vases mouth rim and underside grinded and polished. Very complex handwork by Vetreria Alfredo Barbini, Murano-Italy, 1950s. This piece comes directly from the sample room-pattern collection of the company Pauly & C. Venice (C.V.M.).
