Bezeichnet mit dem alten Firmen-Eetikett der Manufaktur Zecchin-Martinuzzi Vetri Artistici e Mosaici (Venezia Murano C.).

Francesco Ferro a large antique, art deco, soffiato glass vase “Calcedonio”. Made of hand blown, chalcedony glass with slight bubbles. The body in baluster form with slim and long pulled vases neck in trumpet form with one indentation and spreading foot in trumpet form. The chalcedony glass is a particular decorative type of glass, this is the result of adding a mix of iron oxide, tin oxide, silver and other colory metals in to the glass melt before it is processed. The result is an imitating of a semi-precious stones such as the lapis lazuli, the chalcedony, the jasper, the malachite, the agate and the onyx, by Francesco Ferro e Figlio, Murano-Italy c. 1890. This piece comes directly from the sample room-pattern collection of the company Pauly & C. Venice (C.V.M.). Early pontil scar.

Marked with the old label of the manufacture Zecchin-Martinuzzi Vetri Artistici e Mosaici (Venezia Murano C.) to underside.

In excellent condition no chips, crack or repairs.
